Joanne McCartney is the Labour member of the London Assembly for Enfield and Haringey.

Questioning Mayor on use of statistics

In November 2011, Ms McCartney chose to challenge Conservative mayor Boris Johnson on his use of preliminary statistics as evidence for the success of the Heron Unit at Feltam Young Offenders' Institution.[1] The Mayor had previously been criticised about this my Michael Scholar, head of the UK Statistics Authority, and in the press.
