Bill Esterson

Bill Esterson is the Labour MP for Sefton Central. He entered Parliament at the 2010 general election when the constituency was created.

Esterson has a degree in Mathematics and Philosophy.[1]

Mobile Phones and Health

In December 2010, Esterson contributed to a House of Commons on the subject of the health effects of mobile phones. A transcript of the complete debate can be read on Hansard:

Science Funding

In October 2010, Bill Esterson signed Early Day Motions 707: Government Funding for UK Science[3], and 767: Science is Vital Campaign[4]. Both motions supported investment in science in the face of cuts anticipated in the coalition government's forthcoming spending review, although Esterson signed them after the conclusions of the spending review had been announced.

Same-Sex Marriage

Bill Esterson voted in favour of the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Bill at its third reading in May 2013[5].
